Doctor Strange 2 and Inhumans Star Anson Mount Speaks Up About Black Bolt's Return

Weeks after the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Inhumans star Anson Mount finally speaks up about the surprising cameo appearance in the movie of his character from the canceled television series. Reprising his role as Black Bolt, he shares how excited he was when he learned of his return, this time, in the MCU.

Anson Mount took his excitement on Twitter to finally share his milestone as Black Bolt in both Inhumans and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In a tweet, Mount said, “Finally able to discuss this w/out providing too many spoilers. Getting the call from @Kevfeige was one of the most unexpected of my life.”

Mount added how thankful he is for the chance, especially working with the director of the movie, “It was an honor & joy to finally work w/ Sam Raime who reached out to engage me on how best to do this. Beyond grateful for the experience”

It is no question that Black Bolt would be a member of the Illuminati because he belongs there even in the comics. What shocked everyone was Anson Mount’s return as the character.

Anson Mount first suited up as Black Bolt in the 2017, Inhumans, which was sadly canceled after one season after the series flopped. Mount’s character, Black Bolt, is the King of the Inhumans whose abilities were triggered by the Terrigen Mist and his power meant that he would not be able to utter a single word without destruction.

Black Bolt has sonic super powers with his quasi-sonic scream which, even a whisper, could kill. His voice could make a shock wave that could be equal to nuclear weapons. He can also channel his energy to throw a punch, the Master Blow. Other than that, he has the typical Inhuman abilities of enhanced strength, stamina, reflexes, speed, durability, and agility.

With the introduction of the Inhumans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even if it is a variant from Earth 838, it can only mean that they have their counterpart on Earth 616 which is yet to debut on the big screens. This goes the same for the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, as well as the different variants of each of the characters in the franchise.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now in theaters.
