It's no secret to a lot of fans that Marvel has attempted to launch the Fantastic Four film franchise on three separate occasions but they just couldn't hit the mark. A lot of factors can be attributed to the failure of the 1994, 2005, and 2015 iterations of Marvel's first family, and just when it seemed like all hope is gone for Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing, Marvel Studios is finally stepping in to make sure the fans finally get the definitive live-action adaptation of the popular super team.
As it stands, we still don't know when production begins for the anticipated F4 reboot but the latest reports surrounding the film have been incredibly promising. Variety reports that Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts is still the studio's pick to helm the project and while no release date has been announced, the project, which has been in development since 2020 is expected to begin production this year.
Now, according to scooper MyTimeIsNowHello, Marvel has allegedly begun the casting process for the film. No other details were given about the potential set of actors who will make up the Fantastic Four but 2022 just might be the year that we'll finally meet them. Of course, fans are still coming up with their own casting ideas for the reboot with favorites like John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Zac Efron, and The Rock all making their respective lists.

I have complete faith that under Kevin Feige's tutelage and guidance, Marvel Studios will finally find success with the Fantastic Four. And with Jon Watt riding a massive wave of momentum right now thanks to the success of No Way Home, inspiration is definitely running high on him. For now, let's just wait for further announcements regarding the exciting project.
