Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 5 Teases Genya's Terrifying Transformation


There is little doubt that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 5 had a lot of huge surprises. However, Bright Red Sword saves the most shocking one for last as the episode offered a glimpse at Genya Shinazugawa's terrifying transformation.

In Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 5, Tanjiro gains consciousness and realizes that Nezuko is carrying him away from Hantengu's clones. However, they are stopped by Sekido's lightning attack. Karaku then uses his fan to destroy the building, trapping Nezuko under the rubble.

Tanjiro realizes that his sister is holding on to the blade of his sword and begs her to let go. However, Nezuko keeps holding on, causing herself to bleed on the blade. She then ignites her blood and sets the sword on fire, causing the blade to turn bright red.

The sword becomes an important part of Tanjiro's next move Hinokami Kagura: Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance. He attacks Sekido, Karaku, and Urogi, successfully beheading the demons before realizing that he had missed the fourth one.

As it turns out, Genya had attacked Aizetsu and successfully decapitated the fourth demon. However, Tanjiro realizes that Genya's face has transformed and it looks like he has turned into a demon.

It's an excellent cliffhanger that has fans talking about Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 5. Manga readers already know what happened to Genya but for the sake of the anime-only fans, we won't spoil anything.

For now, it is unclear what happened to Genya but the truth will be revealed in the next episode of the third season.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 5 is titled Bright Red Sword and adapts the manga's Chapters 110 to 114.

The next episode is titled Aren't You Going To Be A Hashira? ("Hashira ni Narun ja Nai no ka!") and will air on Sunday, May 14, 2023.
