Demon Slayer Fans Declare Muichiro's Episode As Anime's Best So Far

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 8 might be the first full episode that didn't feature Tanjiro and Nezuko but it certainly makes up for the main characters' absence with a compelling story. The latest episode of the Swordsmith Village focused solely on Muichiro Tokito and fans are declaring it the best episode in the anime so far.

In Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 8, Muichiro Tokito finally regained most of his memories after escaping Gyokko's Water Prison. He recalls that his father, who had the same kindness and red eyes as Tanjiro Kamado, was a lumberjack who fell to his death while trying to gather herbs for his dying wife during a storm.

Muichiro also remembers that he was left alone with his twin brother Yuichiro who had a harsh tongue and often prevented him from helping other people. Yuichiro even chased away Kagaya Ubuyashiki's wife Amane when she tried to inform them of their swordsman heritage.

The encounter with Lady Amane strained the relationship between the twins and they ended up not speaking to each other. But when a demon enters their home, Yuichiro quickly shields his brother from the attack and loses an arm in the process.

His twin's fatal injury and the demon's taunting words enrages Muichiro who then attacks and pins it down until the sun comes up and kills it. As he recalls Yuichiro's dying wish in the present day, Muichiro takes on Gyokko to defend Haganezuka who is still restoring the ancient sword for Tanjiro.

The epic fight scene between Muichiro and Gyokko is far from over but Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 8 made it clear that the Mist Hashira means business as he takes on the Upper Rank demon. It didn't take long before fans were calling The Mu in Muichiro the best episode of the anime, at least, so far.

Although the episode focused fully on Muichiro, Tanjiro and Nezuko still had an appearance in the post-credits scene where they celebrated Mitsuri Kanroji's birthday with an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 8 is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
