Following the premiere of the Swordsmith Village Arc’s first episode, a new stage play has been announced. Specifically, Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc is the next to get a stage play adaptation in Japan.

The latest part of the Demon Slayer stage series was revealed on its official website.

There, details about the next theatrical installment were revealed, including the new actor for Tanjiro Kamado.

While the Entertainment District Arc is technically the series’ second season in the anime (not counting the Mugen Train movie), the Entertainment District play is the fourth entry in the stage adaptation series.

Back in September 2019, shortly after the first anime season’s finale, a Demon Slayer stage play was announced, and it ran in Japan from January to early February in Tokyo and Kobe.

This first stage play adapted around half of the first season’s story. Thanks to its success, the rest of the first season was made into another stage play which ran in August 2021 and featured returning cast members.

Since then, another part of the stage series ran in September and October 2022 which is based on the Mugen Train Arc. Show dates were split between Tokyo and Kyoto.

There was even a traditional Noh-Kyogen Demon Slayer play which featured different sets of actors and staff members, though it’s not part of the main stage series.

This unique play was mounted in July and October 2022 in Tokyo and Osaka, respectively.

As many have expected, the stage play series will continue this year with the fourth part which will adapt the Entertainment District Arc.

For the role of Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, actor Ryoshiro Tsuji is returning and is now part of the main cast. Joining him are most of the cast members from the previous parts.

The one major change here is that Tanjiro Kamado will now be played by Shogo Sakamoto who is replacing Ryota Kobayashi.

In the previous three parts, Kobayashi played Tanjiro, but he is now graduating from the role.

Along with the cast announcement, it was confirmed that this next play will be held in Tokyo this November and in Osaka this December.

For now, there’s no word yet on specific dates and ticket prices plus availability, though more info will be shared soon.
