Deadpool Creator Seemingly Teases Surprise Cameos on Doctor Strange 2

The first Marvel film to come out this year is highly anticipated especially with the rumors that it would have tons of surprise cameos and this would not be a problem at all for the story of Doctor Strange 2 in the Multiverse of Madness considering the plot that it has. The creator of Deadpool, Rob Liefeld, seemingly teases that the speculations are true.

In a guest appearance on The Big Thing with Kristian Harloff, Rob Liefeld was asked a ton of questions and the banner of the story is whether Tom Cruise would appear on Doctor Strange 2. Liefeld revealed that Marvel has been undergoing some daily tests on the film and the appearances of Fox/ Marvel characters are really happening.

Liefeld said, "You want me to see it six times, you bring some of that [Fox-Marvel] stuff in… And actually, I know on some level, some of it is already there. I have just revoked every - every one of my [Marvel] passes just got revoked.”

While Liefeld did not reveal how he obtained this information, surely, he has someone on the inside who knows, possibly it is him, too. Considering that he created Deadpool, he definitely knows when Marvel Studios is up to something especially if its concerns the character. Deadpool already joined the MCU, somehow, in a short video where he was with Korg, a character from Thor: Ragnarok who reappeared in Avengers: Endgame.

With the acquisition of Fox, it would not be a surprise if there would be any appearance of Fox/Marvel characters because everyone knows it is inevitable, no one just knows when it would be happening. With a rumor like this confirmed by someone who is connected to a known character, this excited many fans as the movie may be the first-ever MCU debut of some much-awaited characters.

This follows the vein that Spider-Man: No Way Home has practiced where they kept the appearance of previous Spider-Man versions a secret until the theatrical release. Tom Cruise is one of the potential actors to appear in the film with the speculation that he would portray Iron Man’s variant from a different universe. This would be quite a joy especially because he was considered to play the part which we all know went to Robert Downey Jr. It’s a fun way to introduce the multiverse as well.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters on May 6, 2022. It is expected to have a trailer come out on this year’s Super Bowl happening on February 13.
