We already know that the Sorcerer Supreme will be getting some help from the likes of Scarlet Witch and American Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, it looks like the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel will also introduce an obscure comic book character who could help Stephen Strange. A new poster confirms the arrival of an odd character who has helped the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj!
The official Doctor Strange 2 poster was shared on the Redwolf website along with several Marvel merchandise. The poster features Rintrah, the furry green alien who is also a member of the Masters of Mystic Arts.
In the comics, Rintrah is a magic user from the planet R'Vaal who was originally introduced as a minor character tasked with returning Strange's Cloak of Levitation after a repair job. However, he ends up staying in the Sanctum Sanctorum and even becomes Doctor Strange's apprentice.
It's certainly an interesting idea to introduce another green alien into the MCU but unlike Gamora, Rintrah looks more like a furry minotaur. Either way, it would be great since that means the Sorcerer Supreme will get more help as he faces a truly huge problem this year.
The plot of Doctor Strange 2 is still a mystery but we already know that the Sorcerer Supreme will be working with new and old allies as he travels into the multiverse to go up against a mysterious and powerful adversary. It's safe to say that Rintrah will be one of the new friends who will be helping Stephen Strange in the highly anticipated MCU sequel.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is directed by Sam Raimi and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. Xochitl Gomez will be introduced as America Chavez in the film. The movie will hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
