According to an official filing for Deadpool and Wolverine in the U.S. Copyright Office, Corrin is set to play Cassandra Nova in the film.

For the past several months, it has been heavily rumored that Corrin is playing Charles Xavier's twin sister in the MCU film. Now, it's finally confirmed.

The trailer also gave us a very brief glimpse at Corrin's Nova as fans noticed a quick shot of the back of a bald person, who they suspected to be the villain.

In case you're not familiar with the character, Cassandra Nova is a member of a species of bodiless parasites composed of living emotional energy known as the Mummudrai.

Just like Charles Xavier, she has telepathic powers. However, ideologically-wise, it is the complete opposite since she is bent on genocide and destruction.

It is interesting to see how the character will play into the story of the film since she is going to have a formidable presence as the villain and perhaps a huge threat to the multiverse.

Her addition also opens up the question of whether it is an indication that a version of Charles Xavier will be making an appearance in the film to assist Deadpool and Wolverine in their fight against her.

The second trailer will likely give us more glimpses of the character and show us why she is the main opponent in the film.

Deadpool and Wolverine is set to arrive in theaters this July 26.
