Deadpool 3 Taps She-Hulk Writer To Come On Board

While X-Men fans have been wondering when mutants are actually getting introduced and debuting within the MCU, Deadpool 3 is a good start to pin down their interest, considering that not only is Ryan Reynolds’ antihero joining the gang, but even Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine returning to play the role, this time, in Marvel.

As Deadpool 3 continues to undergo film production, a recent report from Deadline stated that She-Hulk: Attorney At Law writer Zeb Wells has been tapped to co-write the script, alongside Deadpool franchise writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

Considering that Wells has written for Marvel Comics, such as Amazing Spider-Man and New Mutants, among many others, his placement in the scribe team for Deadpool 3 is no strange thing at all. In fact, his most recent written work that came to life was Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 7, where the first mutants were also featured in the episode.

It is worth mentioning that that apart from Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel debuting the first mutant within the MCU, She-Hulk Episode 7 paved the way for more mutants becoming canon in Marvel, which implies that the Multiverse Saga may not be necessary at all. I suppose just needed in terms of continuing the Deadpool franchise.

Not to mention, this will be the second time Well has worked on MCU’s fourth-wall-breaking projects. In She-Hulk Episode 7 titled The Retreat, despite some MCU fans finding it boring, it was still marked as one of the highest rated episodes from the season.

That said, with Wells on the team, there’s nothing stopping Marvel now in later on including more X-Men characters, especially given that Patrick Stewart’s Professor X already made an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It’s only a matter of time before we could potentially see him or James McAvoy’s version within the MCU.

Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 is currently slated to premiere in theaters on November 8, 2024.
