A lot of MCU fans have been looking forward to Deadpool 3. Not only because of Hugh Jackman's return as Wolverine, but it is also set to bring back more characters from the non-MCU Marvel movies if you believe the rumor mill.

Apart from Jackman, Jennifer Garner's Elektra is the only other Fox Marvel alumnus who is confirmed to be making a cameo appearance in the film and it is likely that we might hear more names in the months leading up to its release.

Now, another exciting new name has been added to the casting rumor mill for Deadpool 3 and it is a character that may surprise you.

According to insider Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie.com), Blade is set to make an appearance in Deadpool 3. However, they didn't say whether it's the Wesley Snipes or Mahershala Ali variant of the character.

Considering that the film is more focused on the characters from past non-MCU movies, it is likely that Snipes is the one who will play the character when we see him show up in the film. Ryan Reynolds has also worked with him before on Blade: Trinity.

However, Snipes and Reynolds did not get along when they made the film which makes the possibility of the former's cameo unlikely although you can also argue that perhaps the two actors have made amends and moved past it.

There is also a possibility that Snipes shot his cameo individually without Reynolds on the set and he agreed to do it in order to play his beloved role again even for just a short amount of time.

Nevertheless, it is an exciting prospect for fans since it is yet again another cameo that they might have a rapturous response to and it also makes sense in the context of a multiversal story.

The only issue for it is that it could also add some confusion since Snipes' Blade films were not produced by 20th Century Fox as it was under the New Line Cinema studio although they could also turn that into a joke since it is a Deadpool movie after all.

Deadpool 3 is set to arrive in theaters somewhere in 2024.
