For the past few weeks, we've been hearing a lot of rumors and speculations regarding the highly-anticipated MCU film Deadpool 3 which is still in production as evidenced by the recent set photos that surfaced online.
Considering that the film will also feature the return of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine to team up with Ryan Reynolds' titular mercenary, it's been rumored lately that the movie will serve as the "No Way Home" of the Fox Marvel movies and reunite the cast for a crossover.
Now, as we're starting to hear more exciting information about the film, it looks like another actor from the Fox Marvel movies has now been confirmed to return for the MCU event.
Jennifer Garner is Back as Elektra in Deadpool 3
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Jennifer Garner is returning to reprise the role of Elektra in Deadpool 3. Her appearance in the film is described to be a cameo.
The actress first played the role in 2003's Daredevil where she was paired with Ben Affleck's Matt Murdock. She went on to have her own spinoff movie in 2005 which ended up bombing at the box office, but she was still beloved on the role nonetheless.
Her appearance is likely to be part of the movie's multiverse angle which has been rumored for months. Now with both Jackman and Garner confirmed to be part of the film, it is now sounding more true than ever.
There have also been rumors lately that Affleck is also set to return as the Man Without Fear in the film as well although it hasn't been confirmed yet. If he does appear in the movie, it is certainly interesting from a behind-the-scenes standpoint since he and Garner are ex-spouses.
Garner's now-confirmed appearance sparks the rumors surrounding the film's alleged multiverse story and reunion of the Fox Marvel actors even further and it's not surprising at this point if we will hear more confirmed names in the coming weeks.
While the actress' appearance might just be a cameo, it is still exciting to see that she will come back in the role and perhaps give her swan song before the MCU potentially introduces their own version of Elektra down the line.
