Too many internal conflicts caused the band to split up. Relationship problems, drug and alcohol addiction, and other personal issues surrounded the band, which eventually led to them falling apart.

First, Billy and Daisy’s ongoing will-they-won’t-they romance. While the two may have started out as enemies, they sooner realize that they have a lot more in common. As they got closer, their songs started becoming hidden messages to each other. This causes a rift between Billy and his wife, Camila. The latter then decides to leave and ditch the Chicago concert.

Third, Eddie’s issues with Billy. Eddie always wanted to be the lead singer, and he thinks Billy steals the spotlight from him. He confronts Billy on how he knew that Billy re-recorded his parts on the album. He also gets angry at Billy for taking over from him a song that he and Daisy were supposed to perform. He’s always had a thing for Camila too, and when the latter rejects him, this heightens Eddie’s anger toward Billy. The two end up hitting each other hours before the show.

Fourth, Billy relapses. Thinking Camila has left him for good, Billy goes back to drinking in a bar after a fan offered him drinks. He misses the band’s soundcheck as he ends up highly intoxicated before the concert.

Fifth, Daisy’s personal issues. She does drugs and gets wasted hours before the concert following her confrontation with Billy and Camila, and her phone call with her mom. After the final performance, she decides to leave the band for her sanity, mostly because she could no longer control her feelings for Billy.

It seems like Warren, the band’s drummer, was the only one without issues.

Karen ends up being a rock and roll star and she continues to travel the world and play music. Graham moved back to his hometown, Hazelwood. He got married and started a family. He thanks Karen for that because he’d probably “still be pining after her if she hadn’t been brutally honest with me that night.”

Eddie became a lead singer of his own band, and Warren married his girlfriend Lisa of which he has two daughters. He also continued being a drummer.

While the band members may have moved on with their lives, the memories they have of the band will always stick with them. It’s good that they ended up getting what they wanted, even though their happiness is mixed with painful memories.
