Amazon Studios has concluded its heartfelt musical drama series on the fictional band of the same name Daisy Jones & The Six. They were one of the biggest bands in the world during the 70s, and they sold millions on their award-winning album “Aurora.”

The series follows the rise and fall of the rock band through a documentary set-up, with interviews of the members narrating the story and how internal dramas led to the band’s infamous split in 1977. So how did the series end following the band’s split? Does Daisy Jones & The Six have a happy ending?

The finale takes us to the infamous Chicago concert on October 4, 1977. Daisy Jones & The Six perform to a sold-out crowd at Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois, and it ends up being their final performance ever.

Too many internal conflicts surrounded the last performance of the band.

For one, Billy and Daisy confess their feelings but admit they can’t be with each other. Camila, Billy’s wife, notices that the two have grown closer and confronts both of them. Billy denies anything going on, and Daisy assures Camila that Billy will always be hers. But Camilla responds that Billy and Daisy are the same and that they deserve each other.

Second, Karen and Graham’s relationship. Karen discovers she’s pregnant in Boston, which excites Graham. However, Karen refuses to be a mother because she doesn't want to quit her career in music, so she secretly gets an abortion. She confesses this fact to Graham on the day of their last performance. This leaves Graham speechless, and he walks away without saying a word to Karen.

Third, Eddie’s issues with Billy. It seems like Eddie always wanted to be the lead singer of the band and that he’s always had a thing for Camila. Hours before their last performance, he airs out all his frustrations to Billy and how he knew that Billy re-recorded his parts on the album. He also hints that he slept with Camila by telling Billy to “use his imagination.” This leads to a fistfight between the two.

It seems like Warren was the only one who didn’t have a problem.

The irony is the chosen ones never know they are chosen.” – Rod Reyes, Daisy Jones & The Six’s tour manager

Years after the band splits up, Julia, Billy and Camila’s daughter, starts creating a documentary of the band. Karen becomes a rock and roll star, something she’s always wanted to do. She continues to travel the world and play music for strangers.

Graham, on the other hand, moves back to Hazelwood and gets married. He thanks Karen for that, because “I’d probably still be pining after her if she hadn’t been brutally honest with me that night.”

Eddie forms his own band. Warren’s been a session drummer and has been on some records. He marries Lisa in 1982 and they have two daughters.

As for the band’s music producer, Teddy Price died in 1983. “They found him hunched over a soundboard after another all-nighter. He died doing what he loved, just like he said he would,” Billy shares with his daughter Julia.

A year before his death, Teddy says in an interview that “the world won’t remember me, but they will remember the music. And I’m plenty good with that.”

As for the band’s tour manager, Rod, he quit the business because he was heartbroken when the band fell apart more than he’d been with any other band.

So what about the band’s two lead singers?

On the night of the band’s last performance, Billy drunkenly asks Daisy to be “broken” with him and they get intimate. But she snaps back into reality and says that she doesn’t want to be broken.

Daisy then decides to leave the band for good. Simone (who, by the way, opens a club with Bernie) comforts her, saying that it isn’t the first time Daisy’s left behind a family anyways. But Daisy responds that she “just really loved this one.”

While reflecting on the past, Daisy concludes it was the best decision she ever made.

“Everything that I have, and everything that I have done – my music, my sobriety, my daughter is all because I left that night,” said Daisy.

She also shares that she has been in love since then many times, but admits that with Billy, it was different.

“We were two halves in that way you almost never find with anyone,” Daisy shares.

Billy relapses on the night of the band’s last performance. He then goes to rehab and therapy and eventually wins Camila back. He shares how he was able to right some wrongs and how he never missed a school play, or a soccer game, and sees Julia become the amazing woman she’s become.

However, Camila gets sick and dies before Julia finishes her documentary about the band.

The band members talk about Camila and how she brought them all together. Karen shares with Julia that Camila was the reason she joined the band and the reason she stayed. Eddie doesn’t go to the funeral but wishes he had. Graham couldn’t bring himself to talk about it. Daisy admits that Camila saw a future for her that she couldn’t see for herself, and that Camila was right.

On the other hand, Billy tells Julia that Camila was the love of his life.

“I can say that now. I know it’s the truth,” shares Billy. “Give me all the platinum albums you want, the success, the fame, all of it. And I would hand it all back to you for one more minute with her,” Billy concludes.

Concluding Daisy’s interview, Julia asks her if she would want to do it all again. Daisy responds that she wouldn’t know how Camila would feel about it.

Julia then shows Daisy a video of Camila talking about how happy she is for Daisy and that “she’s made such a beautiful life for herself.” Camila also admits that she’s always been Daisy’s biggest fan.

Billy watches the same video, where Camila says Billy should call Daisy. This surprises Julia, but Camila explains that while she and Billy had a wonderful marriage, nothing in life is ever as simple as we want it to be.

“So one day, when he’s ready, tell your father to give Daisy Jones a call. And tell Daisy Jones to answer,” Camila says. “At the very least, those two still owe me a song,” Camila concludes.

We then see Billy knocking on Daisy’s door. And when Daisy opens the door and sees Billy, she wears the biggest smile on her face.

Does ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ Have a Happy Ending?

The proper term would probably be “bittersweet.” The band members have moved on with their lives, but the memories of the band will always be in their hearts. They may be happy after the band split up, but their happiness is mixed with regret and bittersweet memories.

The series’ ending did leave with a door open though. It seems that in the video, Camila gave her blessing that Daisy and Billy could be together now. So maybe Billy and Daisy decide to give it a go this time, with no holding back. And maybe by then, they would have a happy ending.
