However, instead of being delighted, Denji was put into a daze as his lifelong dream wasn’t as great as he expected.
While doing paperwork, Makima notices Denji’s depressed state. Upon inquiring what’s wrong, Denji shares how his dream didn’t feel as good, thus he now lacks any sort of motivation.
Makima senses this, and she pounces, making for one of the steamiest anime scenes of the season.
First, Makima says that holding someone will feel better if Denji were closer to that person.
Then, she makes suggestive advances toward Denji, such as holding his hand, biting his finger, and letting Denji feel her boobs.
Makima then tells Denji that she’ll do anything that he wants, so long as he defeats the Gun Devil.
What follows is a harrowing explanation of what the Gun Devil is and its frightening power.
Undeterred and with newfound motivation, Denji promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to bring down the Gun Devil.

Chainsaw Man Episode 5 Fan Reactions
Given the nature of the scene, it should come as no surprise that for many fans, it was the highlight of Episode 5.
On Twitter, there are lots of viewers and fan accounts that shared their reactions to the scene.
It seems the prevailing opinion is that the scene is animated incredibly well and features top-notch voice acting by Makima VA, Tomori Kusunoki.
Fans on both Twitter and Reddit also say that this scene is one of the most erotic anime scenes, despite having the two characters fully clothed.
While some love the scene mostly for its suggestive nature, there are many who feel uncomfortable with it.
Many fans believe that Makima is grooming Denji in this scene which made them feel uneasy.
Despite Makima's seductive nature, many still found it to be a chilling moment.
What is certain is that this scene has grabbed the attention of the fanbase, and it will be interesting to see how fans react as the relationship between Makima and Denji develops.
