Ahead of the second episode’s release later today, MAPPA released a new preview for Chainsaw Man Episode 2 that teases the arrival of fan-favorite characters Aki and Power.

At just 15 seconds, the preview doesn’t really reveal much in the way of story details, meaning there are no spoilers to be worried about for anime-only viewers.

Though it does show that Denji will finally meet Aki Hayakawa and Power in this episode.

Without going into spoiler territory, Aki and Power are Denji’s devil hunter teammates as revealed in previous trailers and in the show’s opening.

Based on the preview, it seems that Aki and Denji’s first meeting won’t be smooth sailing.

Fans who have read the manga should already know what to expect in this next episode.

However, given that Power will also make an appearance (which happens in Chapter 4), it’s possible that a fight scene that happens in Chapter 2 may be skipped over in the anime so the events can fit the episode’s runtime.

Whatever the case may be, the events of Episode 2 will likely be a bit less action-packed, especially when compared to the stellar fight scene between Denji and the Zombie Devil from Episode 1.

Still, fans have plenty to be excited for as Episode 2 will finally feature more of the cast. Not to mention that the Chainsaw Man world will be fleshed out more.

Aki and Power's Anime Debut

Without mentioning any specifics from the manga, Aki is presented in this preview and in the trailers as a no-nonsense devil hunter.

From the looks of it, Aki and Denji’s personalities will clash given Denji’s brazen attitude.

Meanwhile, Power is shown to be a bit of a wilder character. It’ll be interesting to see how these two fan favorites will be depicted in the anime.

Voicing Aki in the series is Shougo Sakata, a rookie voice actor who has played supporting roles in Attack on Titan: The Final Season and Dr. Stone.

Meanwhile, Power is voiced by Ai Fairouz, the voice actress of Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.

Chainsaw Man Episode 2 will be released later today in Japan, and it will be available shortly after on select streaming platforms.
