Chainsaw Man Director Shares New Denji Art Ahead Following Epic Premiere

There is little doubt that people are all about the first episode of Chainsaw Man and fans can't stop talking about the premiere. Needless to say, the anime kicked off with an amazing Episode 1 and director Ryu Nakayama has shared new Denji art in celebration of Chainsaw Man's premiere!

Ryu Nakayama posted the Denji art on his Twitter account ahead of the Chainsaw Man Episode 1 release. The anime director reminded fans to watch out for the premiere, which was hardly necessary since everyone already has the date marked down on their calendars. Still, the reminder came with awesome new art so we're grateful to Nakayama. Check it out below.

Chainsaw Man Episode 1 introduced Denji, a young man who has been paying off the debts of his dead father. Denji struggles to make money by cutting trees and selling some of his own body parts. He also works as a devil hunter for an old man and Denji manages to do this with the help of a little Chainsaw Devil called Pochita.

The episode also reveals how Denji met Pochita as a child. While Denji is visiting his father's grave, an injured Pochita approached him. Realizing that the devil could heal itself by drinking blood, Denji offers his arm to Pochita and says they now have a contract where the devil will help him survive.

The bond between the two is proven later when they are killed by the old man who had tried to make a contract with the Zombie Devil. Pochita, revived by Denji's blood entering its mouth, promises to be his heart if he lets it see his dreams and their union turns Denji into Chainsaw Man.

The second episode of Chainsaw Man is set to premiere on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
