Here's What Happened Before Chainsaw Man Chapter 122
In Chapter 121 of Chainsaw Man, both Denji and Asa are feeling gloomy after their separation.
Yoshida makes Asa a coffee and talks to her about his values, which seem to be reinforcing hers.
When he mentions that he believes romantic companionship isn't necessary when one can form parasocial relationships through books and movies, Asa is pleasantly surprised as she feels the same. Or so she tells herself.
This reinforcement of her beliefs leads her to believe that Yoshida might like her. However, he cuts the coffee time short and states the true reason he approached her.
In truth, Yoshida only meant to warn her not to associate with Denji anymore. He leaves, refusing to elaborate.
Elsewhere, Denji is melancholic and reluctant to go devil hunting. Now that Nayuta has cut his date short, he starts to realize that, at this rate, he'll never get his dream of having a girlfriend, as Nayuta is pushing them all away.
Nayuta -- who points out that Asa smelled like a devil -- motivates him by telling him that if he keeps slaying devils, everyone will love and worship him.
After her meeting with Yoshida, Asa walks home in a bad mood. Despite her claims that she doesn't need anyone, she admits that she often feels lonely and craves companionship.
Asa's gloomy reflections are interrupted when she comes across a dead body.
Recognizing that something is wrong, Yoru takes over Asa's body and warns her to stay behind.
Above her, a large number of people are standing on their balconies, watching.

Here Are Our Predictions for Chainsaw Man Chapter 122
Chapter 121 of Chainsaw Man ended on an ominous note, with Asa and Yoru encountering a corpse.
At this point, it isn't clear why this man died, or what the people on the balconies are looking at.
Given what we know about the world of Chainsaw Man, we would think that a devil attack is likely, especially since we haven't seen one in a while.
Nayuta has just persuaded Denji to go hunt some devils, so if this was indeed an attack, we expect to see him fighting in the next chapter.
In that case, his and Asa's paths might cross again. So, would Asa/Yoru understand that he's Chainsaw Man this time?
Regarding the reported leaks, if they are confirmed, we expect to find out the reason behind the mass suicides. Many fans already assume this to be the job of the yet-unseen Death Devil.
And what about Yoshida's painfully enigmatic motivations? Stay tuned to find out!
