Chainsaw Man is one of the most highly anticipated anime this year but we still don't have a lot of details about the series. Nevertheless, MAPPA wants fans to look forward to the adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's action-packed manga and the producers are promising that the anime will do its best to depict the rawness of the source material.
People have been waiting for updates on the Chainsaw Man anime for a long time now considering there hasn't been a lot of news about the adaptation. Luckily, MAPPA was glad to talk about the upcoming show at Anime Expo.
MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka, executive director and management director at MAPPA Makoto Kimura, and series writer Hiroshi Seko were on hand to discuss the Chainsaw Man production and although they didn't provide a lot of details, it was clear that the studio is taking its time to provide the best adaptation possible.
Interestingly, Otsuka spoke about the visuals that fans can expect from the adaptation (via Comicbook.com). According to the MAPPA CEO, the series "will be highlighting the reality and rawness of the original manga series." In addition to that, the anime will "still tap into the high concept fights."
The fights in Chainsaw Man are certainly something that fans can't wait to see animated. Considering that MAPPA has done an excellent job with the likes of Attack on Titan: The Final Season and Jujutsu Kaisen, expectations are understandably high and the studio is well-aware of this. With that in mind, MAPPA is doing the right thing by taking time with the production to ensure that the adaptation doesn't disappoint fans.
For now, Chainsaw Man has not yet been given an official release date. However, the anime is already expected to premiere before the end of 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
