There is little doubt that fans were hoping to see Chainsaw Man this year after the first NSFW trailer was dropped in June. However, there haven't been any updates on the anime since the teaser's release. Luckily, we could be getting some good news. There are speculations that the first cours of episodes will be released at around the same time that the manga's second part will be published next year!
The news was shared on Twitter by a fan account that gets intel on Weekly Shonen Jump. In addition to the manga's highly anticipated second part, the Chainsaw Man anime will finally be released in 2022.
This is excellent news considering that the wait for both the anime and the manga's second part has been a long one. Fans have been hoping that the anime adaptation would be completed soon after the first part of the manga was done.
For now, both the Chainsaw Man anime and the manga's second part have not yet been given official release dates. However, fans can rest assured that 2022 is going to be a huge year for the franchise.
In June 2021, the first trailer for Chainsaw Man was unleashed during MAPPA Stage. The teaser featured amazingly graphic footage from the upcoming anime, confirming that the adaptation will not tone down on the violence.
In October this year, Tatsuki Fujimoto's work was awarded Best Manga at the Harvey Awards. The mangaka was quick to thank the award-giving body and promised that he will continue to push the manga forward.
"Thank you for the insanely awesome award! It's the best award of any awards that exist in America! I consider this crude manga of mine unbefitting of any award, but I plan to continue packing it full of all the things that I love. If you ever happen to be handing out awards again, hit me up! Thank you very much!" Fujimoto stated.
