Denji has been in an entirely new environment since becoming Chainsaw Man, as he can show his fangs to anyone except Makima and his colleagues. But every time he pulls the cord on his chest and transforms, can Denji talk while he is Chainsaw Man? Is he still the same person?
Spoiler Warning: There are Chainsaw Man spoilers ahead!
How Did Denji Become Chainsaw Man?
Denji starts out like any ordinary human boy, except he was deprived of love from family and friends.
When he met Pochita in a fateful encounter, Denji offered his blood in exchange for a contract between them.
Since entering into a contract with Pochita, Denji has become a lapdog for a yakuza group that holds him at gunpoint.
After Denji’s father died, he inherited his debt and even promised to pay the yakuza by killing and hunting devils.
Denji grew up, but he was still repaying his father's debt. In an unexpected turn of events, the yakuza duped him into confronting the Zombie Devil, who wants him dead.
After many years of faithful service, they framed him.
Denji was dismembered and thrown into one of the bins in the warehouse where the Zombie Devil resides.
Pochita was also hurt, and the two of them were abandoned to die.
Fortunately, Denji's blood made its way into Pochita's mouth. This gave the two of them a chance to survive, as Pochita eventually decided to become Denji's heart.
Denji pulled the cord on his chest and transformed into the titular Chainsaw Man after he and Pochita were fused together.

Can Denji Talk While He Is Chainsaw Man?
Yes, Denji can talk while being Chainsaw Man. Despite having a demonic mechanical head with long, jagged fangs, Denji can speak clearly.
In fact, he's the same person, except that the tone of his voice has somehow changed.
Meanwhile, the style of wording used in the manga distinguishes Denji's voice.
When he is in his normal human form, the words are written in the same style as the other characters. However, the style of the words changes when he transforms into Chainsaw Man.
Denji was able to speak clearly even after transforming into Chainsaw Man for the first time in the first episode of Chainsaw Man.
Surprisingly, he did not stutter at all!
Who Are Denji’s Voice Actors in Chainsaw Man?
Denji's Japanese voice actor is Toya Kikunosuke. Except for the fact that he works for Sony Music Artists, Inc., little is known about him.
It also appears that Chainsaw Man's Denji is Toya Kikunosuke's first major role in his voice-acting career.
He had minor roles in other anime shows, such as Tokyo 24th Ward and UniteUp!
On the other hand, Ryan Colt Levy is Denji’s English dub voice actor.
Unlike Toya Kikunosuke, Ryan Colt Levy is a seasoned voice actor who has worked for anime shows like Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun as Andro M. Jazz, Shaman King as Mohamed Turbine Tabarsi, Moriarty the Patriot as Dr. John H. Watson, and Komi Can’t Communicate as Shisuto Naruse.
