As fans are excited by the anime’s long-awaited return, Bungou Stray Dogs BL fan art has flooded social media sites ahead of the Season 4 premiere later today.

While the manga source material has continued its serialization, fans of the anime have waited for years now as it has taken a while for its fourth season to come out.

Thus, it makes sense that lots of fan art are being released for the show.

If you take a look at Bungou Stray Dogs on Twitter, you’ll be forgiven for thinking that it’s a boys’ love anime series. Though it’s not actually a BL show as it’s more of a mystery and action series.

However, it does have a considerable fanbase of LGBT anime fans, with many shipping the show’s lead characters.

Many viewers also consider the series to have BL undertones.

So, it’s not surprising that lots of BL artworks have been shared online, including one featuring Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Atsushi Nakajima in women’s clothing (or gender-bent, depending on your interpretation).

This fan art by @Hachii_ro got considerable attention and praise for its impressive art style and detail.

Though it’s far from being the only artwork for the show as there’s lots of it on Twitter.

While there are many BL works, there is also fan art that is cutesier in appearance.

Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 Release Date

The Bungou Stray Dogs anime began back in April 2016 with the release of the first season.

While the second season followed quickly and aired in October 2016, it took two and a half years until the third season’s release.

Now that it’s been another two and a half years since Season 3 came out, the series is finally back with the fourth season, to the delight of many fans.

Given that the previous seasons are all 1-cour releases with 12 episodes each, it’s expected that this latest one will also have 12 episodes.

Though anime studio Bones, which returns to animate the fourth season, has yet to make an official announcement regarding its episode count.

What we do know is that Bungou Stray Dogs Season 4 Episode 1 will premiere later today on Crunchyroll as part of the platform’s Winter 2023 anime lineup.
