The first episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is finally out and it didn't waste time in helping fans catch up with everything that has been happening for Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson. Although both characters had been up to some interesting things since Avengers: Endgame, people couldn't stop talking about everything that Bucky did in New World Order.

WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 1! Proceed with caution!

In the premiere episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Sam is immediately sent on a mission with the US Air Force to track down a plane hijacked by Batroc the Leaper. Although he is successful, Sam still struggles with the idea of being the next Captain America and decided to surrender the shield to the US government.

Meanwhile, Bucky has been attending therapy as he tries to make amends for his actions as the Winter Soldier. To do so, Bucky has been hanging out with an old man named Yori and going on dates. However, he has also been ignoring Sam's calls and messages for some time.

These two men are clearly struggling to deal with the aftermath of the Blip. However, Bucky's struggles, like trying to stop a fortune cat's arm from moving, have fans praising him for his efforts to put his life as the Winter Soldier behind him.

Bucky's story is definitely one of the most compelling ones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, he was brainwashed into being an assassin for almost a century and he is now doing his best to make up for his actions. This includes being friends with Yori, whose son he had killed several years before.

For now, Sam and Bucky aren't working together but there is little doubt they will eventually team up in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. After all, Sam will need all the help he could get to take on the new terrorist group known as the Flag-Smashers and we're still not sure if the new Captain America will live up to the name.

The first episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is now streaming on Disney+.
