The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Will Feature Surprising Sam Wilson [SPOILER]

We're just a few days away from the premiere of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier but we have just learned something new about the Marvel Cinematic Universe series. The new information could confirm that there will be some interesting developments for Sam Wilson in the MCU.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

It has already been confirmed that Top Gun: Maverick star Danny Ramirez has been cast in an undisclosed role. However, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman may have revealed the identity of the mysterious character.

In an interview with ComicBookMovie, Spellman was asked if people will finally find out what happened to Steve Rogers after the events in Avengers: Endgame. Although the writer stated that Steve's fate is still a mystery, he also admitted that "Joaquin was asking the same question in the first episode."

So who is Joaquin and why is he asking about Captain America? There is a possibility that he is one of the new characters who will be introduced in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and he's set to be an awesome addition to the MCU. It is possible that Spellman is referring to Joaquin Torres, who has been speculated as Ramirez's character on the show.

In the comics, Joaquin is a young man who gets abducted by the Sons of the Serpent and is turned into a bird-human hybrid by using Redwing. However, Sam, who has already taken the Captain America mantle, takes the boy in and makes him his new sidekick. Joaquin would eventually become the new Falcon.

Although it's unlikely that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will depict Joaquin's comic book origins, it's possible that the show will give him a more realistic backstory on how he becomes connected to Sam. For instance, he could be a member of the Flag-Smashers who has a change of heart and helps Sam and Bucky instead.

Will Sam's Captain America get a new Falcon? We'll find out when The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ on March 19.
