In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 276, titled Welcome to the Maze, a bounty hunter named Anaguma informs Boruto that all those in the Thunder Train woke up in the same lab.

Anaguma comes from the Hidden Mist, and he is just about to transport his bounty, Rokuro.

Boruto meets other passengers such as another shinobi from Hidden Leaf named Kiseru Gankubi.

An old man named Ouga cuts everyone's conversation. He expresses his interest in conducting tests on all the passengers to learn how they survived what destroyed the train before he lets them go.

A mist shinobi volunteers but dies instantaneously because of Ouga's puppet hand.

Ouga reveals that he wants to experiment on people's lives, thus, they are trapped in his secret underground maze.

Moreover, those who will not pass the five tests will never be able to leave.

The first test forces all of them to climb to safety as the floor collapses, resulting in Anaguma falling to his death while Rokuro runs free.

However, they cannot escape yet as the survivors have to pass another test.
