Five years after Bones ended, the talks about the Bones revival are again on the horizon. Talking about her new Netflix series, Devil in Ohio, Emily Deschanel revealed if she wanted to reprise her role in the hit Fox show.

Deschanel played the role of Temperance Brennan in Bones for 12 seasons, from 2005 to 2017, opposite David Boreanaz. So, will fans once again see them in the Bones revival?

Bones Revival News

Being on the air for 12 years is no joke. With the show’s long run and fame, talks about its revival have been going on since it ended in 2017.

However, the cast and crew have moved on and done other projects. Until today, there are no words yet if there will be Bones revival.

In an interview with TVLine, Deschanel keeps her doors open to returning to the procedural comedy-drama series and how her character may be seen again.

“You know, I think it’s always possible,” she said. “David Boreanaz said, ‘Nope,’ he’s not doing it, but never say never for me. I don’t know, it’s possible, I’d be open, I don’t know.”

How will Bones Revival Work?

According to ScreenRant, the Bones revival will only work if Deschanel and Boreanaz return to reprise their roles.

It was said that their “mismatched energy and contrasting personalities” made the show a big hit.

However, with Deschanel’s comments, it looks like a revival is not coming anytime soon. It’s also good to note that the two lead stars have respective projects they’re doing today, with Boreanaz being part of the TV series SEAL Team.

David Boreanaz on the Possible Bones Revival

Meanwhile, at the final Television Critics Association’s winter press tour panel of Bones in 2017, there were already talks about the possible Bones revival.

“Maybe we kill them all? You don’t know,” creator Hart Hanson said, via The Hollywood Reporter. “I think those things are always possible and very desirable.”

However, compared to others, Boreanaz was more cautious of reprising his role again as Seeley Booth.

“Everything is possible in life, but I tend to like to go forward. I don’t like to go backwards,” he explained. “I don’t like reunions, and I don’t like to go back.”

“Everything is possible in life, but I tend to like to go forward. I don’t like to go backwards,” he explained. “I don’t like reunions, and I don’t like to go back.”

However, Deschanel seemed to have remained open about it since then.

“I would like some time before I consider that. We’ve put 12 years into the show,” she revealed. “It’d be really weird to say goodbye, very emotional to say goodbye, and then next week, we’re coming back.”

“That’s not to say I wouldn’t consider it,” she added. “We need to have some time pass before we consider that.”
