Black Panther Fans Want Angela Bassett to Win an Oscar for Stunning Wakanda Forever Performance

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is finally out and fans are understandably blown away by everything that the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel had to offer. Not surprisingly, most of the buzz is coming from the performances of the cast, notably Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, and Tenoch Huerta. However, the one actor that people are pushing to get an Academy Award is Angela Bassett, who turned in a stunning performance as Queen Ramonda.

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ramonda became Queen regent after the shocking death of King T'Challa. As queen, Ramonda had to deal with the death of her son, the failed theft of vibranium in a Wakandan outpost, the threat of Namor and the Talokanil, and the alleged kidnapping of her daughter Shuri.

Through all this, Angela Bassett delivered a performance so powerful that viewers were left in awe (and tears) and now everyone is campaigning for the American Horror Story actor to get an Oscar.

Angela Bassett isn't the only Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actor who fans believe should get an Academy Award nomination.

On a lighter note, some fans also think that Angela Bassett's most impressive features should get an Oscar nod.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever certainly had a lot of Oscar-worthy performances and it was a carefully crafted sequel that ensured the franchise could continue in the future. Most importantly, it was an emotional and fitting tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who passed away before the film could begin production.

Black Panther 2 is directed by Ryan Coogler and also stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The film is currently screening in theaters worldwide and is already a major box-office success.
