Black Panther star Lupita Nyong'o pays tribute to her late co-star Chadwick Boseman on his fourth death anniversary.
The late MCU actor passed away on August 28, 2020, as a result of complications from his battle with colon cancer. Fans worldwide paid tribute to the actor shortly after the news of his passing was announced.
Marvel Studios decided not to recast his iconic role of T'Challa, and the sequel Wakanda Forever served as a tribute to the late actor as the story dealt with the aftermath of the character's passing.
Lupita Nyong'o Pays Tribute to Chadwick Boseman on His Death Anniversary
In her recent post on Instagram, Nyong'o, who plays T'Challa's love interest Nakia in the Black Panther films, paid tribute to Boseman on his fourth death anniversary by sharing photos of the late actor and a passage about grief.
"Grief never ends. But it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It’s the price of love," she quoted a famous passage before writing, "Remembering Chadwick Boseman. Forever."
Nyong'o is not the only MCU vet who paid tribute to the late actor on social media on the fourth death anniversary.
James Gunn, despite not being officially part of the Marvel family right now, also posted a tribute to Boseman by sharing a photo of him and Rocket Raccoon on the set.
"Rest in Peace," the DC Studios co-chairman simply wrote in the caption.
Even if it's already been four years since his passing, fans are still grieving as they miss his presence on-screen and the impact of his death is still being felt up to this day.
However, there is no doubt that Boseman's legacy continues to live on as his work still resonates with today's audiences and he is still seen as the definitive on-screen T'Challa by many fans.
