So, Does This Mean That Asta’s Five-Leaf Grimoire Is Evil?
In simpler terms, yes, because a fifth leaf in the grimoire symbolizes a demon, which explains why it is expected to bring bad luck. The five-leaf grimoire is called the Grimoire of Despair.
When a mage who owns four-leaf grimoire experiences so much hate, their book is filled with the same dark emotions.
When this happens, a fifth clover appears, turning it into a Black Clover or a five-leaf grimoire.
The bond between the mage and the book remains, as well as the power, but there is an added power-up: a five-leaf clover grimoire hosts a demon.
This means that Asta’s grimoire has a demon trying to control his body.
Normally, four-leaf clover grimoires disintegrate once their owner dies. But five-leaf clover grimoires do not (which explains why Asta’s grimoire is worn out and old).

Who Is the Devil in Asta’s Five-Leaf Clover Grimoire?
The devil in Asta’s grimoire is called Liebe, who was introduced in Black Clover Chapter 267. He is also the source of Asta’s Anti-Magic. While many people expect a scary and monstrous devil, Liebe is just a kid.
Liebe is known to be a low-ranking devil who came from Licht’s grimoire. Like all devils, he wants to take over Asta to acquire a physical body.
Despite being a low-rank devil, Liebe possesses Anti-Magic, an ability that nullifies any magic.
Asta created a Devil Union with Liebe to improve his powers further. Liebe boosts Asta’s abilities in exchange for control of the shounen anime protagonist’s body.
