Barry Keoghan is Ready to Play Joker Again in The Batman 2

Earlier this year, Eternals star Barry Keoghan made a short but memorable appearance as the Joker in The Batman when we saw him interact with Edward Nashton in Arkham Asylum near the end of the film. Right now, it is unknown whether his appearance was a set-up for the sequel. Either way, it looks like the actor is certainly ready for that call to come.

In a recent interview with GQ, Keoghan revealed that he still has not received any calls from Warner Bros. and Matt Reeves regarding reprising the role of the Joker in the sequel. However, he is hopeful that it will end up happening and he is ready to do it when that time comes. "As soon as that call comes, I’m there man. I’m there," he said.

As of this moment, Reeves is still in the writing process on the sequel and the project has also not been given an official greenlight by Warner Bros. However, with the successful reception that the first film received and the overall deal that Reeves signed recently, it seems to be a guarantee at this point.

So far, it is unknown yet whether Keoghan's quick appearance was an indication that he will show up in the upcoming films or he was just an easter egg to show that the iconic villain is present in Robert Pattinson's Batman universe.

However, a lot of fans are looking forward to seeing the potential sequels expand their introduction of the villain since a lot of them believe that they didn't place him in the first film for nothing. Either way, Keoghan is certainly ready for the opportunity and is looking forward to facing off Pattinson in the future.
