After it was announced back in December, the official release date of the Ayakashi Triangle anime was finally confirmed. The show’s release was revealed alongside a new trailer that gives fans an extended look at the upcoming anime.
This new trailer was released on the official Aniplex YouTube channel, and it highlights the main characters along with their respective voice actors.
Ayakashi Triangle Anime Trailer
In case you’re unfamiliar, Ayakashi Triangle is an anime series by studio Connect that’s based on the manga of the same name by Kentaro Yabuki.
Yabuki is a popular mangaka who is also known for his other works such as Black Cat and To Love Ru.
Similar to his previous works, Ayakashi Triangle was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from June 2020 to April 2022.
The manga is still ongoing, though it is currently serialized on Jump+ in Japan.
Meanwhile, fans in the west can read it via Manga Plus.
As for its story, the series follows Matsuri Kamazaki and Suzu Kanade, childhood friends who can both see ayakashi or spirits. Though their relationship deteriorates as they grow older.
It doesn’t help that they view ayakashi differently as Matsuri considers all ayakashi as threats while Suzu loves them despite the danger they pose.
Soon, the two stumble upon a cat named Shirogane who turns out to be a powerful ayakashi.
As Shirogane tries to devour Suzu, Matsuri stops him and seals his power. But before he can do so, Shirogane turns Matsuri into a silver-haired girl.
While Suzu developed feelings for Matsuri, she must now work out her feelings for him as he has turned into a girl.
Meanwhile, Matsuri must act like a girl until his grandfather can undo the spell.

Ayakashi Triangle Voice Cast, Release Date
Heading the series’ voice cast is Kana Ichinose as Suzu. Ichinose is known for voicing Ichigo in Darling in the Franxx, Maki Shijo in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, and Suletta Mercury in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury.
Joining her is Shouya Chiba as Matsuri. He is known as the voice of Kiyotaka Ayanokoji in Classroom of the Elite, Shinei Nouzen in 86, and Yudai Imamura in Blue Lock.
Rounding out the main cast is Tesshou Genda as Shirogane. Genda is a veteran voice actor who is best known for voicing Kurama in Naruto, Younger Toguro in Yu Yu Hakusho, and Kaido in One Piece.
The Ayakashi Triangle anime will release on January 9 at 1 AM JST (effectively January 10 JST).
Right now, there’s no word yet on where the series will be streamed outside Japan.
