Attack on Titan is one of the most popular anime in the last couple of years, and it’s praised for its grim story, excellent animation, and memorable characters.

Thanks to its popularity, the anime has been adapted into other media, including a live-action film, a stage play, and several video games.

One of the first major game adaptations is Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains, an action game for the 3DS.

While there was excitement for the game, it received negative reviews from critics due to the hardware limitations of the console.

In 2016, another game adaptation based on the series was released, this time for PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One.

This hack-and-slash game retells the story of Attack on Titan’s manga from Chapters 1 to 33.

Unlike the 3DS game, this Attack on Titan title got better reviews, with critics praising its overall gameplay despite some issues.

Along with these titles, the series has also collaborated with popular western games, including the likes of Call of Duty, as well as the recent Dead by Daylight collab.

The upcoming game will be released for Meta Quest 2 (previously called the Oculus Quest 2).

It’s described as a 3D action game where players will face off against Titans while using the Survey Corps’ signature omni-directional mobility gear.

Alongside the announcement, developer UNIVRS Inc. shared the first trailer for the game which you can watch here:

The trailer does not feature any gameplay footage, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we see the game in action.

Though it’s fair to say that this is set to be the most immersive Attack on Titan game yet.

To get a better idea of what to expect, the game’s developer, UNIVRS Inc., was also the studio behind Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing for the Oculus Quest 2.

Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable will be released exclusively on Meta Quest 2 in the Summer of 2023. The game will be released with support for 1-2 players.
