Asha is a one-of-a-kind main character in the new Disney movie Wish. Apart from being the first Afro-Hispanic heroine in the House of Mouse, there have been certain Easter Eggs that seemingly dropped hints about her true identity in the Disney Universe.

Disney's Wish is undoubtedly full of references to Disney's classics as a way of celebrating the House of Mouse's 100th anniversary, but one specific scene sent fans into a frenzy: the reminiscence of Asha wearing Cinderella's Fairy Godmother cloak.

Although Asha's signature color is violet, wearing the similar bowtie the Fairy Godmother had in the 1950 animated film seems to be a clue about who she'll end up becoming. So, does this make Asha the Fairy Godmother?

Naturally, the theory spread like wildfire on social media and fans stormed Twitter to air their first reactions as Asha transforms from being King Magnifico's sorcerer apprentice into the Kingdom's very own Fairy Godmother:

Wish Directors Debunk the 'DisneyVerse'

Easter Eggs aren't in cinema, let alone within the Disney Universe. Considering that we've previously seen loads of references — from Rapunzel and Eugene making appearances in Frozen to Scar as a mask in Hercules, and even Belle casually walking down the streets in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Disney's Wish is no different.

Take note that Asha's friends were inspired by the dwarfs in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Wish co-director Chris Buck said that their outfits wore the same color palette as the original, which could be the same reason behind Asha.

So, no, Asha is not the same Fairy Godmother who was present in the original Cinderella movie. But she has been declared the Kingdom of Rosas' own Fairy Godmother.

As Walt Disney Animation Studios chief creative officer Jennifer Lee told GamesRadar+, the Disney Multiverse isn't exactly as strict and as thematically connected as the Marvel Multiverse:

"I think the concept of a Disney multiverse has come up so many times from people, just all the little hints, [like] Rapunzel in Frozen and things like that. And we always love to play with that amongst ourselves, too. We talk about things like that. So this, we said, 'Look, let's just have some fun.' It was just really fun to almost not take yourself too seriously."

Not to mention, Buck even described the easter eggs as 'an additional thing' that was 'never meant to get in the way of the story.'
