How Did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Meet Oprah?
The Times revealed that the trio first met not long before the royal couple’s wedding in May 2018. Two months before the big event, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly invited the talk show host to meet her at Kensington Palace.
Later, she got an invite to their wedding at Windsor Castle. Oprah revealed in their controversial interview that she first approached the former actress for a talk in their meeting in March 2018, but the Suits star turned down her request.

“I wasn’t even allowed to have that conversation with you personally. There had to be people sitting there,” Meghan explained.
“There were other people in the room when I was having that conversation. You turned me down nicely, ‘Perhaps there will be another time. When there’s a right time,'” Oprah responded.
A Year After the Sit-Down
A year after the surprising sit-down, Prince Harry, Meghan, and Oprah have remained friends.
The duke and duchess even visited the TV personality in her home in California and spent an hour there, per Page Six.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Close Connection with Oprah Winfrey
A year before the tell-all interview was held, Oprah reportedly showed Prince Harry and Meghan support when they decided to step down from their senior royal roles in 2020.
Their close connection was even confirmed when Save the Children UK shared a video of Meghan reading a book to her son, Archie, on Instagram.

Insider revealed, via People World, that Oprah Magazine verified that the children’s book used in the clip was part of the collection Oprah gifted the Sussex kid.
With the friendship that they have developed, it’s strongly believed that they’re still in touch today.
