It's no secret that the Avengers franchise's colossal success has opened the doors for Marvel Studios to work on other comic book properties. We've heard for years now that Kevin Feige and crew are developing a Young Avengers project which would of course feature a new breed of heroes who will continue what the Earth's Mightiest Heroes started.

One of the most prominent characters from the Young Avengers is Scott Lang's daughter Cassie who would later take up the mantle of Stature/Stinger. And now that she's all grown up, expect Cassie's journey to becoming an Avenger herself to begin in the next Ant-Man film.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to introduce Stature/Stinger but in case you haven't heard yet, Marvel Studios has decided to recast Emma Fuhrmann who played Cassie in Avengers: Endgame with rising star Kathryn Newton who starred in Freaky. The young actress is pretty excited to become part of the MCU and according to her, she's always been a huge fan of the franchise.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Newton opened up about her casting and what her character is going to bring to the table in Ant-Man 3. She said: "I've always wanted to be in a Marvel movie, my whole life. But it was just because I was a huge fan. Every time one of them came out, I would go with my dad. It was what we did together, and we loved them."

Kathryn added: "It was our experience, just me and my dad going to the movies. But I couldn't have told you who I wanted to be. Or even if I ever would.." She ended the conversation by saying that her goal now is to become the "best superhero of all time."

Initially, I wasn't a fan of Fuhrmann getting recast as Cassie simply because I'm not that high on studios recasting characters. However, the more I think about it, I think Newton would bring so much more to the table as the MCU's Cassie, and I'm pretty sure they saw a tremendous amount of potential in the young star.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania hits cinemas in 2022.
