It's official: there is no more doubt that Ant-Man 3 is indeed happening over at Marvel Studios and apparently, there are some big changes taking place in the franchise led by Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly. We learned at the annual Disney Investor Day that the third sequel, titled Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will be making some major casting changes, with Emma Furhmann getting booted out of her role as the young adult version of Cassie Lang.

Freaky star Kathryn Newton officially takes over for Furhmann in what can be best described as a shocking move. We've yet to get a definitive answer from the studio as to why they decided to replace Furhmann and it's creating quite the buzz on social media. Now, fans of the rising star have called foul over her removal from the film. Check out some of the reactions below:

Emma hasn't addressed the issue but following the announcement, she apparently removed the "Cassie Lang" description on her Instagram bio. If I'm being honest, I wasn't a fan of Marvel Studios recasting Abby Ryder Fortson (young Cassie), to begin with. She had tremendous chemistry with Paul Rudd and they should've kept her in the franchise. Of course, I also feel sorry for Fuhrmann because after Avengers: Endgame, the future looked totally promising for her especially with Marvel Studios' apparent plans of doing a Young Avengers project. As for Newton, this could totally be a turning point in her career and I'm sure she'll do great in the role.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will hit cinemas in 2022.
