In case you weren't aware, a third Ant-Man film is happening over at Marvel Studios and it's looking pretty promising so far, with the official title suggesting that the action will be taking place in the Quantum Realm and the arrival of Kang the Conqueror to be played by Jonathan Majors. However, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will be home to a major change as the studio has confirmed that a new Cassie Lang will be joining the cast. Freaky's Kathryn Newton is replacing Emma Fuhrmann who played Cassie in Avengers: Endgame.
A lot of speculation surrounds Emma's exit from the role, with fans thinking that she had to let go of the role due to her going to college. The rising actress' popularity was also a topic of discussion amongst fans. Now, Fuhrmann is finally breaking her silence regarding the matter. She took to Twitter to express her sadness over losing the role but extended her gratitude to the fans who have been supportive of her MCU journey.
"Just wanted to come on here & say that I see all your kind messages. Thank you for all your support. It has meant the world to me. I was as sad as you all were to hear the news Thursday. I can only hope that this means there is something else for me in the future of the MCU," Fuhrmann wrote.
"I will always be grateful to have been a part of the MCU & the biggest movie of all time. Being an actress is still my #1 passion & I look forward to what the future holds." Check out the tweet here:
Judging by her choice of words, it looks like Emma was looking forward to reprising her role as Cassie and it's an absolute bummer that she had to leave the franchise, not on her own terms. We've yet to get word from Marvel Studios regarding the major casting change but hey, I guess we just gotta move on and look into the future of the Ant-Man series. I'm sure Kathryn will do great as Cassie/Stature.
That said, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will drop in 2022.
