The first season of Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches is based on Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches novel trilogy. The show may be our introduction to the deep and dark universe of witchcraft and mayhem through the eyes and experiences of Rowan Mayfair. In the books, neurologist Dr. Rowan Mayfair's world is turned upside down when her biological mother, Deirdre, dies. Having been given up for adoption as a baby, it came as a surprise when she suddenly became the new designee of the Mayfair family fortune.
