According to Cinema Blend, one of Amber Heard’s most recognizable legal team members was Attorney Elaine Charlson Bredehoft. The latter represented the Aquaman star in court, and she also helped Heard try and clear her name. Unfortunately, they did not succeed.

Bredehoft also released a statement confirming her decision to pass the baton to another attorney that could help Heard with her plight.

“This is the perfect time to pass the baton. I have pledged to Amber and her appellate team my complete cooperation and assistance as they move forward on a path towards success,” she said (via Daily Mail).

Heard’s attorney isn’t the only one who’s leaving the actress’s team. According to Cinema Blend, Heard’s entire legal team just dropped a clue about their decision not to help the actress anymore with her appeal.

“When it comes to protecting the fundamental right of Freedom of Speech, we look at the jury's decision - to paraphrase a famous quote - not ‘as the beginning of the end, but merely the end of the beginning.’ A different court warrants different representation, particularly as so much new evidence is now coming to light,” they said.

Johnny Depp Also Filed An Appeal In Court, Refusing To Give Amber Heard $2 Million

Heard wants to appeal the court’s decision to side with Depp, especially since she is being ordered to pay her ex-husband $10 million. Before quitting her position, Bredehoft revealed that the actress had no capacity to pay the said amount.

Depp, on the other hand, also filed an appeal in court, saying that he and his team believe that errors were made which prevented the court from giving a just and fair verdict that’s consistent with the Fifth Amendment.
