Amber Heard lost a defamation suit filed by her former husband Johnny Depp after a jury found that the Aquaman actress had defamed the Pirates of the Caribbean star in saying Johnny had abused her over the course of their romance. Johnny sued for $50 million in damages over a 2018 opinion-editorial essay by Amber in The Washington Post, in which she said she had become a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Though the said essay did not mention Johnny Depp by name, his lawyers stated it indirectly referred to allegations Amber Heard made against him during their 2016 divorce. The jury unanimously found that the London Fields star could not substantiate her allegations against Johnny Depp and that she knew her claims of abuse were false when she published her essay four years ago.

Now, a new report suggests that Amber Heard is blubbering she is broke and “absolutely cannot” pay ex-husband Johnny Depp the $10.3 million a court says she owes him from their lurid defamation trial. Keep on reading to know more details.

Has Amber Heard’s Bank Account Run Bone-Dry?

Globe Magazine, in its upcoming June 27, 2022 issue, reported that Amber Heard hunkered down throughout the Virginia court case in a lavish $22,000-a-month mansion that features eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, sweeping double staircases, a private tennis court, home theater and spa. When she is not scraping with Johnny Depp, the Justice League actress luxuriates with her daughter, Oonagh Paige, in a five million oasis that has a five-care garage in California’s the Mojave Desert.

However, Johnny Depp reportedly made Amber Heard walk the plank in their chaotic six-week mutual defamation lawsuit. The jury ordered Amber to pay $10.35 million and Johnny to cough up $2 million in the Zombieland star’s original $100 million counter-defamation suit.

Attorney Ellaine Bredehoft, Amber Heard’s lawyer, as per Globe, said the Never Back Down actress “absolutely” cannot afford the hefty judgment. She added that her client intends to appeal the decision because there’s still a mountain of evidence of Johnny Depp’s alleged physical, sexual and emotional abuse that did not come out at the trial over whether Amber defamed Johnny in a 2018 op-ed piece.

Ultimately, according to Globe, the jury did not buy Amber Heard’s poor-me story – and neither have millions on social media who accused her of lying and shedding fake crocodile tears. They also underscored how Amber never made good on her famous vow to donate the $7 million she got from her 2016 divorce from Johnny.

Amber Heard previously testified that her checks to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles were on hold due to staggering legal fees, but that she would follow through someday. Sources claimed Johnny Depp’s ex is getting a free ride from a home insurance policy that covered her court costs.

A Travelers Vice President Pamela Johnson was snapped squiring Amber around at the trial, as per Globe. Pennsylvania trial attorney Heather Heidelbaugh, reportedly, said:

“It’s a little oddity that most people don’t know. In most homeowner insurance policies, there is coverage if you are sued for defamation.”

Legal sources told Globe Magazine there are many ways Johnny Depp can get his mitts on Amber’s dough, including garnishing her wages from her imminent Aquaman sequel or seizing her desert home. Virginia appellate lawyer Steven Emmert, as pert Globe, stated:

“If she doesn’t have the money, then his avenue, while she’s pursuing an appear, is to try to execute on property she owns.”

Virginia lawyer Jeremiah Denton told Globe Johnny Depp can attach Amber Heard’s assets, “which basically means seize them.” PR executive Alexandra Villa claimed Amber’s career is “in crisis” right now as Hollywood studios steer clear of her, adding:

“Much of her testimony has holes in it and she may need to address those issues.”

Johnny Depp, for his part, has reportedly lost no time lining up his next gig. The former husband of Amber Heard reportedly announced his plans to release an album with guitarist Jeff Beck a day after the verdict.

Both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have yet to comment on the reports claiming that the actress’ career is now in crisis as film studios steer clear of her. So, devoted followers of the ex-couple should take all these unverified claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.

Meanwhile, Yahoo Entertainment reported that Johnny Depp’s comeback tour with Hollywood Vampire, the supergroup he formed with Joe Perry and Alice Cooper in 2012, continues. Tommy Henriksen would be joining the trio in the latest venture for Amber Heard’s ex-husband who feels “he’s gotten his life back” after six years.

While Johnny Depp is now working for his imminent Hollywood return, Amber Heard is reportedly handling herself a bit differently after the jury sided with the actor in his defamation case against her. The rumored ex-girlfriend of Elon Musk reportedly continued pleading her case in the court of public opinion with a lengthy interview with NBC News.

Amber Heard maintained that Johnny Depp was abusive during their five-year relationship, despite being “scared” her ex-husband would sue her again for speaking out. Amber’s lawyer previously divulged that they plan to appeal the verdict, but a source tells People she’s “still weighing her legal options, but right now, she needs some breathing room.”
