Since 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building itself to be the huge franchise that it is today and as it continues to take huge steps following the end of the Infinity Saga, the start of something new is in the air with the Multiverse Saga.

Phase Four has done all the introductions needed for the preparation of Phase Five and Six, and it will all be culminating into Avengers: Secret Wars in 2025. But first, let's see which projects are coming in this 2023 as Phase Five finally, and officially, starts.

First up is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and it will open the new year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Phase Five as well. It will have the arrival of Kang the Conqueror and the exploration of the Quantum Realm with Scott Lang and the rest of them gets sucked into the time travelling microverse.

It is the third of the Ant-Man films and possibly the most mature to ever arrive on screen and not only Kang will be the villain, there's Bill Murray's Krylar, MODOK, and possibly a surprise character about to be introduced in the movie.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a pivotal piece of the MCU as it will bring the next big bad and possibly set up a lot of projects coming in the near future.

The Skrulls, introduced in Captain Marvel, will be taking the centerstage in Secret Invasion where Nick Fury will be starring alongside Talos, and Secret Invasion is said to be the first-ever crossover event to happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Again, with its "Early 2023" release date, it could happen between March to April, after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Following the fun Christmas special presentation that they starred in, they will have a much serious tone in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which may witness some major deaths from the team, and the arrival of one of the highly anticipated characters in the MCU, Adam Warlock.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is possibly the end of the team as everyone knows it because it is the last one lined up for the Guardians as one group and it may lead to a death no one could ever recover from so better be ready for when that time comes.

By mid-2023, it is expected that Loki Season 2 will release around the same time as the first season, around June to July, definitely after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and before the arrival of The Marvels, so that only gives quite a short time span in between, enough to fit six episodes.

Loki Season 2 will continue the misadventures of the God of Mischief who gets to a different reality by the end of Loki after Sylvie killed He Who Remains and messed up the sacred timeline causing alternate realities to branch out, and Loki gets to a different time and space.

The sequel to Captain Marvel will be bringing on a girl power team! Nia DaCosta will bring together Carol Danvers/ Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan together in one movie, The Marvels, so expect another femme fatale coming on the big screen.

The finale of Ms. Marvel may have already set up what comes in for The Marvels as the post-credits scene saw Captain Marvel appearing in Kamala Khan's room, while Kamala disappeared in thin air, seemingly exchanging places.

Riri Williams made an impressive debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and as Dominique Thorne entered the MCU, she is set to have her very own series, Ironheart, which reportedly called it a wrap in November 2022.

Ryan Coogler continues to work with Dominique Thorne in Ironheart which is directed by Angela Barnes and Samantha Bailey, and written by Chinaka Hodge. Anthony Ramos is also set to make his debut in the MCU on the series as The Hood, and Sacha Baron Cohen will reportedly arrive as Mephisto.

Which Marvel Projects Were Slated For 2023 But Not Confirmed?

In a post from Disney+ Japan, the only TV shows confirmed for the MCU are Secret Invasion, Loki Season 2, and Ironheart. There are three other shows which are not in the list of those confirmed, and those series are the ones which are reportedly facing some production issues.

When it is indicated as "Early 2023," it is expected that the series will be out around March to April 2023 considering that Marvel releases do not coincide with each other, most of the time, and given that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is in February and the next is in May, it's safe to say What If...? Season 2 is in between.

What If...? has been a phenomenal series that everyone loved when it first released as it tackled a lot of possibilities with the characters and their realities in different universes across the vast multiverse that was introduced in Loki, and it even brought the Guardians of the Multiverse together.

Now, What If...? Season 2 will be dealing with more absurd and bizarre occurrences of possible scenarios that could have been the truth had it not been the main timeline of the MCU. It is teased to be wilder, more mind-boggling.
