In case you weren't aware yet, the expansion of The Mandalorian universe is upon us and it won't be long before we see the epic live-action debuts of some of Star Wars' most iconic animated characters. So far, we've already seen the likes of Bo-Katan Kryze and Ahsoka Tano make their presence felt in The Mandalorian Season 2 and the future Lucasfilm offerings tease that other characters from their animated slate are coming.

Several reports have circulated this month suggesting that the standalone Ahsoka series starring Rosario Dawson will feature the much-awaited live-action debut of Star Wars Rebels character Ezra Bridger and according to the latest rumors, Disney is eyeing Aladdin star Mena Massoud to play the role.

Even Massoud is already teasing fans on social media about his potential casting in the Star Wars franchise, a role any actor would kill to become a part of if we're being honest. Now, digital artist ApexForm is revving up the Ezra hype train as he unveiled a brand new art depicting Mena as the Force-sensitive Jedi Padawan. I'm not gonna lie, he absolutely looks like Ezra to me. Check it out here:

Aside from him obviously looking the part, to Massoud's credit, he's also a phenomenal actor and he pretty much proved that in Aladdin. I'd be glad to see him jump ship to the Star Wars franchise because he has a tremendous amount of potential. And with Ahsoka's production rumored to begin later this year, we might finally get some casting news in the coming weeks or months so we better buckle up.

Ahsoka is expected to drop in 2022.
