Did Aladdin Star Mena Massoud Just Confirm that He's Playing Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka?

Everything looked extremely promising for Mena Massoud after he starred in 2019's Aladdin but his career seemed to have drifted away from relevance following the hit Disney live-action flick. Some fans and critics even feared that the actor will forever be stereotyped from his Prince Ali role but according to new rumors, he may have just landed another career-making part, this time in the Star Wars universe.

Reports are saying that Massoud has been cast as the live-action version of Star WarsRebels character Ezra Bridger who is set to make his debut in the Mandoverse via the standalone Ahsoka series which begins production this year.

Lucasfilm has yet to confirm anything but Mena is now teasing his involvement in the project for the first time since the rumors circulated online. Taking to his Instagram account, the 29-year-old actor posted an image of himself with the caption: "Hey, just so you know, when I escape I won't hurt any of you."

Now, it may appear as a random quote to some people but Star Wars geeks instantly recognized the line which was pulled directly from Star Wars Rebels Season 2's "Stealth Strike" episode. Are we looking at Mandoverse's live-action Ezra Bridger? Check out his post here:

Mena seemingly teasing his involvement in the project doesn't exactly say much considering other actors have "hinted" their possible appearance in the Star Wars franchise. The most notable one is Rahul Kohli who's been trolling fans on social media for months that he's been cast as Ezra in The Mandalorian. Ultimately, he stopped teasing his followers and pretty much confirmed that he was just messing with them all this time.

With rumors suggesting that the Rosario Dawson-led series will begin production this year, I'm pretty sure we'll finally get ourselves some casting news real soon but the real question is, will Ezra actually turn up in the show?

Ahsoka will hit Disney+ in 2022.
