Star Magazine, in its upcoming May 23, 2022 issue, reported that Adele is afraid to show her face in public after facing criticisms after the shows were postponed at the last minute due to various problems. The “All I Ask” hitmaker was expected to grace the 2022 Met Gala, but she was a no-show on this year’s most exciting red carpet.
An unnamed source told the entertainment news publication:
“Adele didn’t think it was right to show up at such as glitzy event and risk offending her fans.”

“She’s deep in negotiations for her new residency. She really didn’t want to be seen after her disastrous retreat from her last residency.”

I regret that I kept going with it until that late in the day, but it just wasn't ready... It just would have been a really half-arsed show, and I can't do that. People will see straight through me up on the stage, being like, 'She doesn't want to be doing this.' I've never done anything like that in my life, and I'm not going to start now."
Also, Adele said it would not have been possible to strip the show down, either. She stated:
“It’s Vegas – it can’t just be me on me f-----g guitar.”
She, however, underscored that shows would be rescheduled for later in 2022, saying:
"They're absolutely happening this year," she said, adding with a laugh, "I want a baby next year. I have plans [for] next year! They better f – ing happen this year."
Adele has yet to address the reports saying that she is afraid of dealing with her critics following the shocking postponement of her Las Vegas residency.
