Game of Thrones May Have Actually Set Up Daenerys’ Return

Game of Thrones might have killed off Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) during the final episode of the series, but it looks like David Benioff and D.B. Weiss may have arranged for a way for the Mother of Dragons and very long names to make a return.

During the final scene of Game of Thrones, fans get to see Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) betraying his lover just before the Mad Queen takes the Iron Throne. Seeing his mother dead in Snow's arms, Drogon, Daenerys' last surviving dragon, sweeps in, melts the Iron Throne, and then takes the Queen's body and flies away with it.

Fans always wondered what Drogon did with Daenerys' body, and recent commentary from Benioff and Weiss revealed that the dragon actually took his mother to her ancestral home in Volantis.

Now, a fan theory suggests that Volantis may mean the resurrection of the Mad Queen.

Taking to Twitter, a Game of Thrones fan wrote a theory hypothesizing Daenerys' return. According to GameofThronesFacts, Daenerys could very well find herself resurrected at Volantis with the help of the High Priestess of the Red Temple.

"Kinvara, who was a supporter of Daenerys in S6, is the High Priestess of The Red Temple in Volantis. The Red priests are known to successfully practice resurrection," the Twitter handle reasoned.

Resurrection doesn't sound unlikely. Game of Thrones did resurrect Jon Snow. Why not Dany? Of course, we may never know – unless HBO plans to make a sequel to the phenomenal fantasy epic.
