According to Variety, the second season of House of the Dragon is set to premiere on HBO and Max this June.

The announcement was made by Warner Bros. Discovery streaming and gaming chief J.B. Perrette during an interview at Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media, and Telecom conference last Monday.

The details of the exact date will be provided at a later time. It is likely that they will announce more information on its release once the first trailer arrives.

Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Harry Collett, and more are all set to return in the second season.

The series will continue following the story of the Targaryen dynasty in Westeros which takes place around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

However, unlike the first season which had 10 episodes, the upcoming installment will only consist of eight episodes.

It was previously announced that the series was slated to return in early summer. Now, we finally know when exactly the second season will premiere and fans will only need to wait for the exact day.

The first season of House of the Dragon is available to stream on Max.
