Now that Netflix is a dominant brand that can almost do no wrong, it's always exciting to hear new projects from the streaming service, especially when talented individuals are involved. The company has just announced a new animated anthology called Love, Death, and Robots from Tim Miller (Deadpool) and David Fincher (Gone Girl). Considering how talented both individuals are, this should be a fairly intriguing series.
Animated anthologies are usually pretty cool, so having a full season of them is going to be great for those that love the medium. For those unfamiliar with anthologies, think of shows like Black Mirror or The Twilight Zone, which have one-off episodes with similar themes. Considering how the show is called Love, Death, and Robots, we can probably one or all of those elements in each episode.
Interestingly enough, the episodes will also have different styles of animation. Some will be hand-drawn, while others will be computer animated. Either way, we're going to get visual treats on a daily basis and this should be one hell of a binge watch.
Here's what Miller told The Hollywood Reporter about this Netflix series:
"Love, Death & Robots is my dream project. It combines my love of animation and amazing stories. Midnight movies, comics, books and magazines of fantastic fiction have inspired me for decades, but they were relegated to the fringe culture of geeks and nerds of which I was a part. I'm so f—ing excited that the creative landscape has finally changed enough for adult-themed animation to become part of a larger cultural conversation."
No release date for Love, Death, and Robots has been announced.
