Following the news that Warner Bros. executive confirms that SnyderVerse ends with the Justice League Snyder Cut, another news has been dropped as reportedly, DCEU will have a Superman reboot and it will be directed by J.J. Abrams. And speculations say that it would not be Henry Cavill, as Superman will be recast.
The future of the DCEU can be quite confusing as there seems to have no clear path to date. The release of the Justice League Snyder Cut raises more questions on where would DCEU would be going. Warner Bros. has a few titles upcoming such as Aquaman 2, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and The Flash of Ezra Miller, including Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam.
Of the many adaptations of Superman, it seems that the Man of Steel would be having yet another person to take on the helm of the superhero and lord the skies once more, and the one to bring it to life would be the director, J.J. Abrams. And this Superman will be special, he's special that he will reportedly be canon to DCEU.
According to leaks online, Warner Bros. is developing this yet another reboot of Superman where he is NOT the last son of Krypton which means there would be some Kryptonians left. This reboot of the man of steel would be existing within the same Universe as that of Aquaman and Wonder Woman. There are also reports that Cavill will be replaced and recast by some new Superman.
While there is still no concrete news as regards the Superman reboot, what's concrete is that Warner Bros. Executive Ann Sarnoff said in an interview with Variety that the DCEU is moving on "to other things" and that they have something else under the works for the DC characters in their Extended Universe.
