A new online listing suggests that the second season of The Penguin might officially be happening with the key creative team returning.
While The Batman's spinoff series was only intended to be a one-season run, some fans are still hoping that it will be renewed for another season and continue Oz Cobb's solo adventure in Gotham City. So far, HBO, DC Studios, and Matt Reeves have been mum about whether they have plans to continue the series.
Is The Penguin Season 2 Officially Happening?

A new listing from the Writers Guild of America (WGA) directory suggests that the second season of The Penguin is currently in development.
Lauren LeFranc, who served as showrunner for the first season, is said to be returning to the same duty for the second season. Mad Men writer Semi Chellas is also credited as a consulting producer for the project.
So far, neither HBO nor DC Studios has commented on the rumored development of the second season of The Penguin.
While there is no official confirmation yet, the listing on the official WGA website is a hint that the second season is likely in active development, and it's a matter of time before they make an announcement.
Star Colin Farrell has previously commented on the possibility of doing a second season of The Penguin, in which he expressed interest in returning if there is a good idea for the story.
"I go off [of] and agree with what [executive producers] Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark and Lauren LeFranc have said, which is, if they came up with an idea for a second season that was really strong, and we all felt compelled to continue to explore the character of Oz in that way, then for sure," he said.
Farrell and Reeves are currently preparing for the highly anticipated sequel, The Batman Part II, which is set to begin filming very soon.
What to Expect in The Batman Part II
So far, the plot details regarding The Batman Part II are still under wraps. There is also no information yet on the main villain that the Caped Crusader will face, but the Dent family is expected to have a major role.
Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, and Jeffrey Wright are all expected to reprise their roles from the first film. Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, and Charles Dance are joining the cast.
Zoe Kravitz is not expected to return as Selina Kyle since the character is not included in the story, but she will likely come back in a potential third movie.
Matt Reeves is back to direct the film and co-write the script with Mattson Tomlin. It is set for theatrical release on October 1, 2027.
