James Buchanan Barnes' Marvel Cinematic Universe journey has been one heck of a roller coaster ride and after years of being used by Hydra as a killing machine, Bucky is undoubtedly on his path to redemption but clearly, it's not going to be easy as the former Winter Soldier is still being haunted by his dark past. While Sebastian Stan's good friend Chris Evans has been relieved of his Avenger duties, it's safe to assume that Bucky will be sticking around for more projects to come.

In a new interview, Sebastian is opening up about Bucky's astonishing MCU journey so far. According to the actor who has been in the MCU for 11 years now, he has an ideal ending for the character's story, and surprisingly enough, it's somewhat similar to his good pal Steve Rogers' fairytale ending. In case you've already forgotten, when he returned the stones during Avengers: Endgame's closing moments, Rogers used the opportunity to travel back to the past and continue his short-lived romance with Peggy Carter. Obviously, things went well for him.

Speaking with Uproxx, Stan shared what he has in mind for Bucky's eventual MCU retirement, and while he didn't exactly say until when he's staying in the franchise, he did state that Bucky deserves his own happy ending. He said: "Oh man, hopefully at this point, it would be in a nice warm bed as a 200-year-old man with a family. That’s his way now, I think he’s earned that."

Of course, it's already a no-brainer answer that Barnes truly deserves to also live the life that was robbed from him all these years but like what I said, his journey to redemption will be a tough one. Hopefully, Bucky will finally be able to come to terms with his dark past so he can finally move forward with his life.
