We're only two episodes in and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has already been successful in establishing Wyatt Russell's character John Walker aka "Captain America" as a dislikable individual and the hate for him continues to grow. Of course, it's safe to assume that it's always part of the plan to make him a douchey hero and the actor is portraying the role perfectly.

Apparently, the hate is already extremely nuclear to the point that the son of acting legend Kurt Russell is already getting death threats from some fans who aren't pleased that he replaced Chris Evans as the star-spangled Marvel hero. According to information we got on Twitter, a fan account that people thought to be Russell's official page deactivated because the criticism was too much for him to bear.

Amid the growing backlash not only for the character but also for the actor himself, Marvel fans quickly came to Russell's defense, saying that he's only doing his job and shouldn't be faulted for taking on the Captain America role in the hit Disney+ series. Check out the reactions below:

It's absolutely ridiculous that there are "fans" who would actually resort to threatening an actor's life simply because they don't hate the character he is portraying. I mean, sure, you can look at it from a different perspective and say that he's doing a terrific job being the bad guy but sending him death threats is too much and such behavior should never be tolerated.

The next episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres tomorrow on Disney+.
